UMN twin cities or Truman State for transfer student?

Hi I just joined so sorry if I made any mistakes in posting this but I'm currently a freshman at a community college and I'm trying to decide what college to transfer to to complete my bachelor's. My top two choices as of now are UMN in the twin cities or Truman State. Obviously they are both very different schools but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these schools and/or their transfer system(s). As far as my intended major, I'm currently undecided, but my interests are english with a concentration in writing, psychology, film, and marketing. Any input will be appreciated, and once again, my apologies if there are any errors in posting this, as I am new to the site. Thank you.

Well I don’t think its arguable that the “U” is the school offering the better education. Choices unlimited (in and out of the classroom), strong profs for upperclassmen, higher ranked departments, etc. There is a good share of transfer students there as well. They are not schools in the same league.

Check out #29 in the ARWU 2013 ranking:

These schools are so different – have you visited both? I personally would prefer Truman. But that is partly due to the large size (and weather!) of U-MN (and I am a 30 year resident of the Twin Cities with a masters from U of MN, and have a friend who teaches at Truman, so know something about the schools). I think you want to look carefully at the course offerings for both colleges to see which ones have the classes you would want given your specific interests, too. Also, what are the costs for each? You really want to minimize your debt as much as possible given that you are an English major. Also… I suppose the Twin Cities might give you some opportunities in film as an EC (around the city) that you may not be able to get at Truman.
