how about u?

HARVARD, yale, princeton, dartmouth, mit (applied ea, but i doubt i wanna go there.. I <3 liberal arts), columbia

have you visited dartmouth yet?

no i havent, but i've done my share of research and like what it has to offer...looks like we overlap a lot...perhaps we'll both end up at the same place :)

any questions about it?
I spent 4 days there!
haha not much.. but the little time I was there, it was pretty amazing

i'll be sure to pm u if i have to decide between dart and another school

do you believe its beneficial to be a poor minority (1st gen etc.) or a rich minority that can pay his/her own way. I mean, we know Harvard says all this PR crap, but in reality they never reveal numbers to demonstrate it. They might as well take a rich minority over a poor one and no one would know. Therefore, do you think poor minorities with good credentials and ECs stand a chance? Its sad to think that financial discrimination still goes on in schools like this.

I guess you are right, but I can only hope
I'm sure they'd choose the latter dha

I hate to instigate a sensitive topic, but I read in one those admissions books that even at need-blind schools, there's a level of "financial admissions management" that adcoms use. Basically meaning that if they have the choice between a rich minority and a poor one, they'd take the rich one since he/she can pay their way and the university still gets to report that they accepted a minority. But at a place like Harvard, where money doesn't seem to limit their admission of students, I think the university once again "looks at the entire application." They have 26 billion dollars for Godssake lol

lol
26 billion? jeez

Yup, it's crazy rich.

"Harvard said departing money manager Jack Meyer earned a return of 19.2% for the university last year, helping boost the endowment to $25.9 billion."

omg a;lsgasg

You applying to Harvard also bananas?

YUP! I'm a bit deterred by the stuff I read about the school in their OWN damn newspaper lol but I really like the school nonetheless. My scores put me way below the average applicant, but the rest of my application is SEXY and I hope they recognize that lol.

haha
show me some stats!

abeautifulmistake, somehow you remind me of glucose101 cuz you both seem obsessed with URM status, with Harvard, and with the CC forum. you both also reply almost to every single post...i can't stop thinking but...

are you glucose?

nope
basically i'm obsessed with URM because I'm hoping it'll give me the edge I need to even be considered into any one ivy (since my sat is pretty wack)

Hey I just found out about cc forum last night, and I have all these questions.. just lookin for answers my friend.. just looking for answers

What kind of... stuff?

oh crap i misread your stuff bananas
thought you said you had high test scores lol

what are your stats?
we're both urms, lets do it!

abeautifulmistake, oops, i made a mistake. you remind me of APFREAK, not glucose. sorry. u both have a lot in common. its odd that u both say "thanks" at the end or seem enthuasistic. it is also odd that apfreak is always on the forum and then suddenly disappers when you shows up. i think this situation is just weird. call me crazy.
