I applied in late August and still haven’t heard. There is a chance I’ll be rejected, but I’m somewhat hopeful because they check applications by region (and I’m in a region without many applicants to UMN)
Decisions are still rolling out, a friend of mine was accepted like 2-3 days ago
@amarz12 , that’s encouraging to hear. I was pretty much figuring they were saving all the rejections/waitlists for the end so anyone who hasn’t heard back this late in the month would get one of those decisions.
Interesting…D’s tracker changed to this…January 31 date chopped off.
Status of your application as of: January 20, 2017
Please note: This is the most up-to-date information available to our staff.
All of your required application materials have been received by the deadline. Thank you!
@FinnPower usually means a decision is about to come out! I’m jealous, mine still has everything
@FinnPower My son’s too just now!! Finally…I’ve been hearing that is the sign, the last sentence cut off! Now I am trying to think back to these posts if they said it was a day…two…three before they found out??? I bet @JBStillFlying might know?
@Chiefster72 my D was one of the first accepted in early Oct. and it was within 72 hours. So hopefully by Mon. morning for your son. Here’s hoping for good news!
Thank you so much @JBStillFlying!!! Butterflies in my stomach! Good timing though with finals just finished, not adding to THAT stress!
My daughter’s still has the entire verbiage too.
It just changed, that was about 4 hours lol. So it says he was admitted to CEHD but doesn’t say anything about being waitlisted for Carlson. Is that it? Was he rejected by Carlson then?
@Chiefster72, congrats to your son! The waitlist question is a good one and in years past applicants who were accepted to 2nd choice called Admissions to get further information about their status with first choice college. There is also the possibility of an internal transfer once he’s at the U. Here are stats regarding that -this year they accepted a little less than 150 undergrads from one of the other colleges:

Just got into CSE
Gpa UW: 3.5
ACT: 30
My D got in. CFANS. Tracker updated this morning.
I am not sure where to put this but…if you get rejected or waitlist/deferred there is another road to the U. Its called MnCap. You take 2 years at a partipating community college with guaranteed admission to the U if you make the grades. You need to talk to the community college so you take the right classes and apply for MNCap.
My D got into the U but she is also looking at this option due the large financial savings…about $40k for her.
my application tracker just posts an error when I log in. Is it doing it for anyone else? Also when the decision is ready, will you get an emial?
The system tends to undergo scheduled maintenance on Sun. Mornings. Should be back up soon.
Fastest way to see a decision is to check the tracker a couple times a day. Especially this week.
Chance me?

Does anyone have any statistics for acceptance rate by college. Wondering what the acceptance rate for CSE was this year?

Carlson was 28% last year (entering fall 2016). UMN doesn’t publish is information, unfortunately. But CSE is more selective than Carlson, if that helps.
