****UMTC Fall 2016 Applications/Admissions Thread****

Did you get enrollment confirmation with Oct. 18 deadline?

That HAS to be a mistake! D17 got the same thing.

They messed up and send out ones for Spring Semester Transfer. How funny.

May 1, 2017 people. But sign up for housing in November when that opens up. You won’t regret it. ($25 reservation fee).

@DALEK1 I did get an enrollment confirmation of Oct. 18! I figured that they wanted to see who was actually enrolling so they could do more rolling admissions or something? I really hope it is a mistake.

This is the standard for all colleges, btw. UMN isn’t trying to jump the gun on National Decision Day.

We are planning to call Admissions to confirm this is a mistake and will post once we’ve done that.

OOS, Applied 15SEP2016.

Stats @yuantheodore? Congrats!

Got my acceptance today! When do you hear from honors?

I was told today that Honors Program invites would be issued before May 1. Not exactly helpful.

In years past Honors notification was typically within a few weeks of the Tracker acceptance so hoping they stick to that schedule again this year.

I was accepted to CLA today! Here are my stats:

I had a pretty significant dip in my grades sophomore year and they’ve never been great, but I think the class rigor, ACT, and EC’s made up for it.

I was pretty confident about being accepted to UMN, but I am very excited to be admitted, and may be enrolling next fall depending on Scholarship money and other options!

Applied as an international freshman on September 7th. Should I expect to receive a decision later because of my citizenship?
Also, are scholarship decisions sent together with admissions?
Thanks!!!

We got a telephone “reminder” call that if D2 had any questions about the application to contact the admissions office. Has anyone heard of getting a reminder call? I’m thinking it was automatic and not a real person-to-person because I have a hard time believing a school with over 45,000 applicants would do that. Unless it was the rep that visits the high schools?

How do you know if you’re accepted? Do you get an email or do you stalk the application tracker daily like me? I applied on 9/23 and have not been accepted officially but on my MU account it shows that I can make a payment and see my class schedule as if I was i student there. Has this happened to anyone else?

Pay no mind to MyU because it’s really not set up yet for the following academic year. Besides you can’t pay tuition if you’re not enrolled – and you can’t enroll until you have been accepted first.

Best way to find out your admission decision is to stalk the tracker, at least every few days.

Hello All,

On Wed. Oct. 19 my tracker was changed to “accepted to prestigious honor program. we will mail you more info.” or something like that. No mail yet. So just need scholarship info…

  1. Admitted to CSE, Computer Engineering
  2. ACT 36, SAT Subject Math II 800
  3. GPA 3.98/4.00 UW. The entire 2015-2016, I was full time UM student- PSEO. 25 Credits earned including As for Calculus I, II and physics for engineering
  4. Senior: Still full time UM PSEO.

I know it’s a long shot, but I have to give a shot to at least one of HYSP, MIT, right? (I have good EC, but not exactly spectacular.)
I really love UMN. I already know the school very well and I will have earned at least 50 credits before high school graduation. My parents have like 5 degrees from UMN between them. Our family blood is Maroon and Gold!
