UMW, CNU or Radford

Hello, I’m a HS Junior and new to this site. I was wondering about people’s opinions on the University of Mary Washington, Christopher Newport University and Radford University, all in Virginia. I’ve toured UMW, and will be going to the CNU open house in March. Will likely tour Radford later in the spring. Is there anything specific I should know about admission chances and campus life before I apply next year?

What are your current stats - GPA, test scores, classes, activities?

Of the three you listed Admissions rates for CNU are the most challenging, followed by UMW and then Radford. Radford has the largest student body, followed by CNU, and then UMW. From what know as a parent, CNU and UMW are known to attract more studious types.

My GPA is 4.0/5.0 now, and, expect for Creative Writing this year, all my classes are AP and Honors. Haven’t taken the SAT yet, but I got a 1170 on the PSAT earlier this year. I’ll admit, my extras aren’t really academic; mostly community service and writing-based clubs. I’m also Presidential of my school’s GSA, and was VP last year.

Increase your test scores for automatic and competitive merit aid at UMW.
Apply early in the Fall at both, apply for presidential leadership at CNU (You never know).
Radford would e a safety for you.

Thanks both of you! I’ll do my best
