Unable to accept for the SOM

Hi.
I just got an e-mail from Bing that they are unable to accept me for the SOM due to overwhelimng no. of qualified applicants, but in the same email they mentioned that the committee would like to consider my application for the SOM fast track MBA program(5 years of study with Bachelors and Masters).
They said that i should reply to them no later than March 4 if i want my application to be reviewed.
Does this mean that i will get admission for Fast track MBA or is that also dicey?
Any reviews for Bing's fast track MBA program?
And has anyone else got such an e-mail?

Yeah, same here. I just got an same e-mail too.
I don’t know how good the Fast track MBA is…
I don’t know what to do. I am really confused…

Me too very confused.
Even with the fast track MBA we will get a BA degree as a usual student would get, but still i am not very sure of the whole thing.
And we have to give a reply by march 4, i guess i will go for it.
what about you dpark2011?

Would you mind posting your stats? Best of luck!

I just want to know like how good the fast track system is.
Yeah, I think I will go for it, but the thing is it sounds like once we get accepted and start going to fast track system, we can’t change our degrees? Like that’s what we have to do for 5years. And it seems like pretty hardcore study.

did you guys receive the binghamton equals success email last night?

My daughter got that “Binghamton Equals Success” email last night…Do you think it means anything? we are still waiting to hear a decision…

I got accepted a while ago and I got that email too. I don’t know if that means anything to anyone.

I received the Binghamton Equals Success email, although I doubt it means anything. On the email, it says “check the status of your application,” which suggests that it’s only an advertisement.

Yes, i agree that it was only an advertisement, but i was wondering if the people that were rejected from som received the email also?

I too received this e-mail. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t mean anything. I recieved e-mails last year from them too when I applied and wasn’t admitted.

Can someone who have be accepted already tell me if theit “Status Tracker” (page where you can see what documents have been received) page changed since getting in or its the same. Thanks!

Does anyone have a view/opinion on the SOM fast track MBA program?
And how much difference would it make if i pursue the Fast Track MBA program from harpur insted of SOM?

Hey dpark2011,
As far as i know, it will not be as difficult as you think, the only difference i think is that in the final year of Business Administration, there will be more emphasis on the MBA study, so that in a way we can cover some part of it already.
In a way i think its a good program, we will be eligible for jobs that require an MBA.
Plus, there is no other option, have you replied to the e-mail yet? I have.

Omesh04,
I heard it’s good to earn your MBA when you have some work experience? I asked a lot of my teachers in schools today and they said that it’s “better” to get your MBA after you have experienced work. I mean it does make sense about what my teachers said.

However, are you like 100% sure that you want to study business?
What I am worried about is what if I don’t like the program? I don’t think I can change my degree once I enter the program…

No, I haven’t replied yet. But once we get accepted to the fast track system, we still have options to choose whether if I want to go to Binghamton or not right?

Well you have a point, it is always better to do MBA after having some work ex.
Yes, i am 100% sure that i want to study business, but i would prefer a non integrated course unlike the one bing is offering us.
Do you have any idea if we can transfer to a non integrated course later?
According to me, yes we can decide later if we finally want to go to bing or not.
Did u get accepted in any other colleges?

just got accepted!!!

Really excited and happy

congrats dreamworld!!! howd they notify you of your acceptance?

I received a letter in the mail. I should be clear I wasn’t accepted to SOM, but harpur. Some in this thread were wondering if there was a connection with the Bing equals success e-mail but I’m still not sure about that.
