Hello,

I am applying as an out-of-state student for Fall '10. I know I'm early on this but I like to get my info asap.

Here's the deal:
-Applying to Cal and UCLA
-Psychology major
-At an OOS community college but was previously admitted to UCI
-Several of the Psych pre-req's are not offered at my cc

Since I cannot take the classes, how will this affect my chances for transferring? Will they even consider me? Any recommendations?

I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you!

It definitely is hard to get into the UCs as an OOS but I got in once so here’s to hoping I do again.

I guess I was just wondering if there was any leeway with the pre-req’s. For example: University of Washington allows you to complete pre-reqs within the first quarter if you were previously unable to fulfill them. Do Cal or UCLA have anything similar?

if they dont offer it at your cc, it’s okay.

Oh really? That’s good news for sure. Do you know how I would go about letting them know why I haven’t taken the classes? (calling them, the additional comments section, or ?)

im not exactly sure how to do it properly. for me, i just wrote on the additional comments part that i will have completed all the pre-reqs my cc offers by spring 2009. i don’t think i really had to do that since i go to a “well known” cc in california. but you might have to. but if any cc in your area offers those classes, you should take it there.
