Do any CC'ers go to a school that has so much hw that a student basically must withdraw if they miss like three weeks or so of school in a row?

Yes. Although my school isn't private, we're on a block schedule, so it would basically be the equivalent of missing six weeks of school, and there's a lot of homework even for that much time.

I think this may be the new measure of how hard a high school is.

You get 3 weeks? If we miss 6+ days at my school, you get a failing grade for the class.

You could miss half the year at my school and still probably get an A or B.

When I went to a private school, I missed 2 months and had no issues. Now I'm at a public school and I missed two weeks and it was nearly impossible to catch up. It really depends on how hard your classes are.

It depends on the classes. Most of the time when people have mono or something, they spend a month or so catching up. If you're out for that long, you do your homework while you're sick, and teachers get someone from your class to call you or come over with lessons, so when you come back there's less to do.

At my school, if you missed two days of APUSH, you'd be hopelessly lost.

If you don't have APUSH, a week of missed school is almost impossible to make up.

I've missed like 8 days already at my school and I'm still pulling of a 4.0 because my school is easy. They always threaten us and say that if we miss 10 or more days they will take "disciplinary action" but they never do.
