Unable to graduate from HS because of PE credits...? Help?

So I am a senior who has been accepted into Cal and planning to go there in the fall. Except there's one small hitch. I'm missing 5 (or one semester's worth) of PE credits.

I'm currently doing a sport to make that deficiency up, but recently I was sick for two weeks (my doctor gave me a note and my parents emailed the coach) and I was not allowed to swim because it was a severe respiratory tract infection. I tried to go back after a week, but after two days of practice, I had a fever again and so my doctor had to prescribe stronger medication, which brought the total up till two weeks.

For both of the weeks, I notified my coach of my absence. Today, I received a call from my school saying that my coach is now refusing to give me the PE credits and I will not graduate from high school. I have a meeting with the assistant principle tomorrow. Any tips on how to present my case?

Thanks.

Can you do virtual school to make it up?

I did an online class to satisfy PE for middle school (8th grade). Ask if there is an alternative.

Can you do PE at a community college over the summer? If you have health problems, take something non-strenuous like yoga.

Ask the principal what documentation you will need to provide from your physician that indicates that swimming is contra-indicated at present. Talk with the principal about any optional activities that you could complete in order to satisfy this requirement. For example, could you write a research paper on a topic related to physical activity, or help the swim coach organize the teams records and equipment?
