Now the notification are back for me.
Not me!
I’ve created a new category called Forum Updates and Issues. I’ll be moving older posts there over the next few days and will put updates about the software in that category. Should be easier to find now.

That’s why I included the screen shot!! I suspect these are threads you moved to the newly named area you created…but boy was I surprised to see that list on my notifications!!
If it’s any help…when I opened one of those…I saw something like this about each thing I had posted…

I got them as well. It looked like edit notifications .

In the spirit of Halloween - I got a rock. 
I am trying to pm someone I am working with as an essay reader, and my lengthy reply keeps getting a message saying " post can’t be empty "

Is it all in a quote somehow? That’s my best guess.
How long is it? More than 32k characters?
Paste it somewhere else and try sending a 20 character message.
You could also try sending it in pieces.
Email the text and your username and the other to jay@literatecomputing.com and I’ll take a closer look tomorrow.
Problem solved! It was a big quote. It’s posted now.

Right.
It is all a quote then discourse thinks your didn’t say anything.
