I am unable to sleep at night as of late. I toss and turn until about 5AM (or 45 minutes before what I used to wake up for high school at). I can get in bed by 1AM and still not be able to sleep. I will wind up doing stuff in an attempt to wind myself down but it never works. As I write this it's 2:49 AM and I know I have at least another two hours until I get up.

I also have trouble resting during the day. Sometimes I will take 15 minute naps involuntarily. Thankfully this rarely happens during class and usually happens when I am doing something like working out or watching TV. On a typical day I usually get about 2 or 3 hours of sleep.

I'm more worn out than a 1985 Honda with 525,000 miles on it (those things can run that long, trust me).

People who read the posts I made a few weeks ago know how noisy my dorm is. The girl who lives directly below me actually wanted to know what was going on in my hall and I wound up hanging up signs that said "The girls below you want to sleep...please respect them". Some of the signs were destroyed and the ones that remain have so far done no good. I had to do it because my RAs are out getting drunk all the time.

I am unsure if noise is a major factor or if it's just stress since I really don't want to be here and my chance of returning next semester is about 10% (I was offered an incredible deal at my community college at home where I could take 16 credits for about $970).

It's probably a combination of the stress and the noise. Two weeks ago (midterm week) I was sleeping maybe three hours a night, not because I was up late doing work, but because I had so much on my mind. Of course, the night that I finally got through everything and figured I'd sleep we had a fire alarm go off at 1:30 in the morning (someone burnt popcorn...) so I didn't sleep much that night either. But I slept great last week when I had no stress. Now the stress is building and I'm able to sleep less. And noise is a big problem for sleep. I'm fortunate to live in a very quiet dorm. It's the honors dorm, and people are pretty respectful of quiet hours, and even during the day.

I would start going in the noisemakers' rooms and tell them to shut the **** up at night and have something called consideration which seems to be a completely foreign concept to a lot of people these days.

i live in a suite with 10 ppl in it and it can get really noisy, usually due to the same one or two people though. people will sometimes start tapping or playing loud music or screaming when i am taking a nap or trying to work on a midterm. so far, ive generally been nice and said things like "could you guys please keep it down? im taking a nap" but after a while of doing this, it gets tiresome and annoying. sometimes i just wanna scream "shut the F up" but i know that would only make things worse for me and my suite in the long run... do you think i should call a suite meeting?

Yeah, I'm having the exact same problem too. I had to read the apartment's rules before paying for the lease and it explicitly said for absolutly no loud noise period or else. But for the past three weeks, I've just been hearing my roommates loud thumping music and their laughs and screams. Really annoying.
