unable to transfer out of community college, ideas?

For some background I am currently on my third year at community college, 9 credits away from an Associates. However, when I first enrolled and took my placement test when I was 17 I rapidly clicked through my math exam thinking that I’ll just re take it after studying thoroughly (you get two chances) my advisor then enrolled me in my first set of classes, I later found out that because he enrolled me in a developmental math I was no longer eligible to re take the placement test nor could I fight this with the department. This developmental has no equivalences at any 4 years near me, and is just an expensive 900$ program that is mandatory but worth 0 credits. When continuing completing my degree I asked my advisor if I absolutley need the credited math that taking this developmental would make available to me. She said no and said I should be set to transfer, so I didn’t take it and I applied and after some contact with the school they said they need two sets of math to admit me, so I wasted a whole two semesters not taking it because she said I didn’t need it (my fault for not fact checking I suppose) .

I am now unable to transfer for a whole year as my intended transfer school doesn’t take summer courses, and the class sequencing has to be done 1. Developmental 2. 151 3. 152, and they won’t let me cut the developmental to do 151. Is that it for me then? That I will be stuck at community college for a year for only a math credit? (On top of that I am unable to transfer so any other schools but my local 4 year uni, I can’t do back ups or other options)

Has anyone else dealt with this?

If your only option is to transfer to that particular university, then you have to meet its transfer requirements. So yes, it does look like you will need to figure out how to get this math series in.

If the only classes you need to take are these math classes, then find yourself a job that you can work around your class schedule, and make some money during this coming year.

Unless you find some way to fulfill the requirement then you’re stuck.
