I have a bit of an obsession with football (not american) and the only channels they show it on are definitely not on basic cable. The point is, although it sounds petty it's one of those little things that gets me through the week with less stress. So what can i do about it when i move into my dorm...i dont really watch TV other than football so it's not like i need all these channels...not just the football ones...is there a box i can get? is it allowed? Do i just set it up like i was living anywhere else...get a TV and a plan and so on...?

I don't know much about electronics or nyu housing. Just wondering if anyone had any insight.

I don't really know what this means - you can bring anything you want, but NYU's cable is provided through NYU. You just bring a TV and hook it up to the cable outlet and voila, lots of channels. You can't really get an outside service if you're in the dorms, though I'm pretty sure they have all the ESPN channels and some hispanic channels, so you'll be able to watch SOME football... you just won't be able to get dedicated channels to it though.

Watching games online might be the way to go.

There is a bar called nevada smiths on 3rd ave. They show european soccer games from almost every league. No Fake ID needed if you come in to watch a game (usually early morning).

thanks! great idea! i'll definitely do that...i watch spanish football (FC Barcelona)

have you ever been there? are there girls there? sometimes i feel really singled out in those types of places...the people are usually either hispanic or european older guys and im a teenage black american girl.
