Under two weeks!
Good luck everyone! I know this next week or two will be a bit of a nail-biter, but let’s just relax and try our best to focus on whatever is going on in our lives right now with school, work, or extracurriculars to distract us. I have a track meet this weekend that I hope will distract me haha! Whatever happens is what is meant to happen at this time in our lives, if we don’t get accepted…Chapel Hill for us at this time just isn’t meant to be, but somewhere else is!! Just know I’m rooting for everybody here!
Next week will know probably tues or Wednesday. It would suck to get decisions after Easter break.
It has historically been the Tuesday on the 2nd week of April so 4/11 but it was on Wednesday and Thursday a couplle years before that so anywhere between 4/11 and 4/13. I would bet on 4/12 (Wednesday).
Does anyone know what time they are typically released?
Usually in the afternoon, around 4
When I visited in March admissions told me we could expect a decision from mid to end of April. I’m hoping they have decisions made and it will be next week. Honestly, I can’t wait any longer.
if you submitted an app last year applying as a freshman do you think they will find that application and read it over? or do you think they just see that you applied?
@martintrevor No, they just know you applied last year. They won’t re-read your old application (I don’t even know if they keep them hahaha)
Mid to end of April? The deposit for a summer course I want to take is due by the 15th. Hopefully they’ll release decisions by then! If not I guess I’ll risk the deposit.
I’m stressed like everybody else. So I went through old threads and pulled out decision dates.
2016 4-14(Thursday)
2015 4-09(Friday)
2014 4-15(Tuesday)
2013 4-10(Wednesday)
So that means it is unlikely we will get our decisions this week, since that would be earliest date in last four, now five, years. Still possible though. And if past trend holds we can say with high confidence that we will have it by next Friday.
It also seems some unlucky students might have gotten their decisions a few days later.
@HopefullyIGetIn I’m assuming by unlucky you mean that because they had to wait and not because they didn’t get in. I believe in 2014, some people had to wait a few days and a good bit of those got accepted. Not that it means anything but in case anyone gets worried, having to wait doesn’t mean you won’t get accepted
Yea, what you said.
I think it is safe to say no waitlisted people are going to get offered admissions, considering the turn of events. Hopefully this basketball thing does not affect transfer acceptance rates.
I’m hoping with the results of the game that they’ll be feeling generous with admissions tomorrow and this week lol
Yea chances went down after game lol
We needed a loss! Lol jk.
Lol wouldn’t UNC winning increase our chances?
When everybody gets their decisions, everybody follow this form so it easy for future transfer students:
Decision:
Gender:
State:
Current College:
Credits:
Major:
HS GPA:
ACT/SAT:
College GPA:
EC: Name of club (type of club) Position, # semesters
LOR and Essays: (Excellent/Strong/Average)
.
Also if you’d like to make a side note at the bottom of other decisions you’ve gotten if you have them that might help future students with comparing schools
And I think its fair to say the game has no effect on our admissions besides maybe pushing them back a few days due to hungover employees
I really don’t think most people are making their decisions based on sports. Now if they decided to be even more generous with financial aid or transfer credit, enrollment rates may go up. Of course for some people a national championship could be icing on the cake, but I don’t think it’s a determining factor for many people.
