Currently doing well Organic Chemistry II sitting with a 97.5. I wish this would be factored in :(. I made a B in Spa 111 last semester, but have A in the spa 112 right now and looks to remain there. In addition with 98 in math 172.
Just submitted my app!
@PalmTree55 How your stats?
I’m waiting for my adviser’s recommendation.
@usctransferstudent How many credits you have done? I’m from SC too. I’m from Greenville Tech.
@ScQuan does UNC require an adviser recommendation? the recommendation is optional right?
Another SC student? Awesome! I go to Clemson. Anyway @ScQuan:
Stats:
3.7 College GPA
4.4 HS GPA
Transferable credits: 39
Extra Activities: Internship (am not allowed to give much info about it, but around 700 people applied and only 7 were chosen so its pretty good) for 20 hours a week, Intramural soccer/basketball
@johnpfc3 Yeah all recs are optional
@PalmTree55 I just took SAT in January. I hope my score above average. I have 42 transferable credits.
@ScQuan Yeah, my ACT score was from Junior year in HS. I thought about taking it again, but according to UNC’s transfer page, the average ACT score for admitted students is between 27 and 30.
@ScQuan I’m not sure what you meant by your still waiting for rec. Just want you to know that you can submit common app before your professor submits rec.
Also: how many recs is everybody submitting? I’m doing 2.
@HopefullyIGetIn yes im doing two; both from 1st semester professors

Essays were pretty good. I talked about LGBTQ rights, and growing up in a non-approving house while being gay. The second one was on service learning, my involvement on campus and acceptance into the UNC Catalyst Program. The third big one was on police brutality, how African Americans are unfairly treated, and the historical cases dating back to 2005 of unfair treatment and police brutality.
Chance me.
I am doing 2 LOR as well
I also did 5 letters of recommendations. 1 from counselor, two from teachers, 1 from a judge, and 1 from a UNC alumni.
Wait what. you got one from a judge? Did you work for him/her or something? 5 is a crazy large amount
Yeah 5 is excessive, especially when the admissions office has said that they don’t event require them (unlike the freshman application).
Also, if anyone is curious, they accepted 46% of applicants last year.
Their website says that 39% of transfers were accepted for Fall 2016.
