UNC 2017 Transfer Student Thread

@elontounc123: I did. And I’m waiting for UNC to create my email

It just sucks because I submitted it on time and qualify for the covenant but now it looks like it isn’t on time so I don’t know how much I’ll get @coffeeallday

Waitlisted. Also rejected from Michigan. I might be stuck at Portland. Super down right now. Does anyone have an idea how long they usually string people along on the waitlist?

Is anyone else having problems trying to create an ONYEN? Each time I do, it say’s my PID is not qualified. I’ve already accepted and paid my deposit.

same with me

@brookso73 I was recently rejected from U Michigan as well. That is absurd that you were rejected with a 3.94 GPA and a 1410/1600 SAT. I was waitlisted to UNC too.

JUST GOT ACCEPTED!

Clocked up ~150 volunteer hours on my app since graduating HS, also got a part-time job. Volunteer work included: Homework helper for kids in a low income area, forest restoration, library assistant, part of an environmental grassroots activism organization.
Part of a very small honors program (about 4% of the entering class)
ECs: Not part of any clubs, but I explained why on my app (I commute + I had a class scheduled at the time that many clubs took place)
Essay: Pretty good (at least according to the grad student who helped me edit it in the writing center, lol)
Teacher Recs: I didn’t see them but the teachers like me and know me well (they weren’t science professors tho)

Ethnicity: White (Middle Eastern)

Do you need to accept to receive the FA award? I don’t get the option to defer payment

@isuncforme493 I hope it works out for both of us bc I am in dire need of financial aid lol
@elontounc123 the exact same thing happened to me. I exited out of that tab and started again. It told me my account was already created and just to login with the username and password that I had made.

Mathematical decision sciences.

See you guys on chapel hill!

Is anyone else having problems with Connect Carolina.

For those of you that got rejected I just wanna say that I’ve been there last year when I applied as a sophomore. I know how you feel. It’s not the end of the world and yes it sucks but you can overcome it. This is my second time applying and with two semesters of 4.0 and a thicker resume I got in this year. Never give up!!

Typically, how long does it take to get financial aid awards after being admitted?

did anyone else who got accepted not receive an email with their transfer credit report yet?

Also looking through thread you see a yuge divergence between rising sophmores and juniors. Seems that juniors with 3.5+ got in

Last year financial aid awards took about a week to two weeks after admission decisions went out.

@unctransfer17 I am in the same boat. I am also having trouble logging into Connect Carolina.

Rejected sophomore.
