UNC 2018 Transfer Student Thread

@NerdyNinja80 It will be either April 6, or 13. Assuming it’s following last years trend.

It was April 7 in 2017, April 14 in 2016, April 9 in 2015 and April 15 in 2014. The times of day for these release dates were late afternoon typically after 3 PM eastern time. Unfortunately, it appears that there won’t be a set date that we know at this point in time, however UNC will send an email on the day/the day before decisions are released stating how to check your decision when it is available.

If you look at the dates you can see that it’s always a Friday, so it has to be 6, or 13 for this year.

Not always Friday in case.

It is not always Friday. April 7, 2017 was a Friday but in the years prior (from 2014-2016 in order) the decision release days were: Tuesday, Thursday and Thursday.

I hope it is not Friday the 13th

My bad. Should’ve done my research better before posting. I was on my phone and just wrote what I remembered. In any case I’m excited and I expect it to be before the 15th.

One thing that is fairly consistent throughout each year is that in the day (Or 2) before the decision release, you will receive an email from UNC stating how to check your decision on Connect Carolina. Once you receive that email, you know that the release is within the next few days.

Have you guys sent in midterm grades?

I haven’t. Personally, I don’t think my grades at the moment will help my chances at all because they are not final and subject to change.

They didn’t request midterm grades from my daughter. Is that in your to do list? If not then you don’t need to send them in.

It’s not required as it’s not on the to do list, but in common app there is an option to print out a form and send in mid term grades to UNC. I don’t think it would help increase chances. @Nurse001

No its not on my to do list. But, UVA recommends them so I was just wondering if anyone had sent them in.

UNC doesn’t require/recommend mid term reports.

I have all A’s right now, should I send in midterms grades? Do you have to?

Last year also seemed like one of the more competitive years, so I’m hoping they aren’t as brutal as they were last year with this year’s applicants

also, do you guys know if being in a UNC-system school helps with admissions? I go to UNCW and I just wanna know if that can help me?? Probably not, but its worth a shot… anything at this point to help me. I got wait listed then rejected last year, so another rejection would crush be tbh

If you want to compare your stats to the UNC fall 2017 transfer profile, here is the site for it if you haven’t seen it already: https://admissions.unc.edu/apply/class-profile-2/
There is also information about the top feeder schools and some demographic information. It is from 2017, so hopefully it won’t change very much this year.
Mid term grades are unlikely to help as they are not final/subject to change. UNC does not require it nor do they list it in the items to do list for the transfer application in Connect Carolina. @kflan13

What are your majors?

Exercise Science, then Physical Therapy after undergrad.
