The Admissions Page is currently unavailable. At one other school I applied to, the admissions page went down right before the mass posting of EA decisions. Maybe decisions are coming out . . .?

False alarm. Page back up.

does this happen to anyone else?

when I go to the applicant central site, it shows the computer icon and allows me to click on it but when I do, it says that CCI is currently not available and to contact the student store.

Is this a good thing or does everyone's say that?

I get the same thing when clicking on the CCI icon.

I just used to get a completely blank page when I clicked on it.

(I was deferred EA)

me, too! I am so glad someone is having the same experience.

Do you think everyone's says that or is it a good sign?

What applicant central site? What computer icon? Please fill me in.

Ok, I found what you were talking about. And I get the same message as you guys. Why do you think it's significant?

i have no clue what computer icon you guys are talking about...

I emailed the ram shop and they said that computer purchases for incoming students does not open until April 1.

If you go to the unc website, click on admissions, then when the screen comes up you click on for newly admitted students. When you scroll down Applicant Central is step 3. You can plug in your ss# and get your info.

i'm getting the same thing...

I really doubt it means anything.

Afterall, it's called "Applicant Central" not "Admitted Central."

yeah i dont think its something to read into, however, it is kind of nice to think that only some people are having this problem

zoom1017

can you log on to your student account? cause i can and i have not been accepted. so does unc let you pay on your student account if you are just an applicant and not accepted.

Yeh, I can log on too. But I still don't think that means anything except that they uploaded the entire applicant database into their system.

i know in my head that what you are saying makes sense but why would they put all of the applicants into their system like that? i can see putting applicants into the system with only their name and nothing else. but to let them be able to pay on their account when they shouldn't even have an account yet is a waste? like not very good security or something? so i can go to appl central and see the icon for ordering a computer. i can go to my student account and pay on it, i am in the student directory even though i am not a student. only thing i can't do is sign up for orientation and housing. and of course i prefer to think that means something good instead of that we can all do it. oh well.

The question is still...is there anyone who is not able to logon to the system and get to an icon for ordering a computer or is not in the student directory????

My daughter gets the icon, but she is not in the student directory. The only kids from her school (and there are a lot) that are showing up in the directory are those that were accepted AND have committed to attending. I'm wondering if one of the reasons kids are getting different emails and notices is because they have different admissions officers. I can't think of any other reason emails with the same context - "Special Update Just for You" - are being sent to students as much as a month in time apart unless that is just when they got to that students application. Otherwise, it seems it would be easier to just do a mass email.

ok, call me paranoid but now i can no longer get to the student account with the cashier. so either i was accepted and now am not or never was and it was a mistake or they are changing something on the site?

I can still get in--and now have financial aid status information (ie that they received my FAFSA).

My FAFSA info was received 3/6...I was deferred EA.

Interesting note, my application was opened on 3/6 (I presume for review). It had not been updated since 12/22/05.

What is this student pay site w/ the university cashier or whatever you all are talking about?
