<p>Just for reference. My dd got rejected out of state with a 4.5 weighted 4.0 unweighted. ACT of 34. 4 yr varsity athlete state and national level in her sport. Over 400 volunteer hours. Tutor in two subjects. Three clubs with leadership. </p>
<p>I have no idea what you can do to increase your chances other than your grades and ACT. Someone has to get in out of state. You never know if the Africa think is different enough to get you in. Can’t hurt to try. Do remember that 82% of your classmates will be from North Carolina and if could be socially difficult from California. </p>
