UNC at Wilmington MFA Creative Writing

Hello everyone,

I am interested in applying to this program and am wondering if anyone else has done so or is currently enrolled. I would greatly appreciate hearing about the program from an "insider." :) Thanks so much!

I'm not an "insider" and don't have much information about the program... I just wanted to respond because I'm also considering applying to some MFA Creative Writing programs at some point. (This fall I'll start working on a different degree, so it won't be all that soon.) Though I don't consider myself to have great writing ability, I've enjoyed writing since I was a kid and wrote my first mini novel (unpublished, of course) when I was 9. I'm currently working on a full-length novel during my spare time, and I hope this one will get published.

The University of Alabama supposedly also has a good creative writing program, and I think so does UNC Greensboro.
Some grad programs have current students who are willing to answer questions to prospective students...

I don't know about that specific program per se, but UNC-Wilmington is an awesome school. It is like 10-15 minutes from Wrightsville Beach which is gorgeous and 10-15 minutes from the city of Wilmington. The campus I believe is the largest (in acreage) out of all the NC schools. My family has a townhouse only about a mile or two from UNC Wilmington so if you have any questions concerning Wilmington please PM me. Sorry I couldn't help with the writing program.

wilmingtonwave- Thank you for the reply! It helps to hear about the campus from first hand information. It does sound like a beautiful setting and I appreciate the post. Thanks again!
