UNC-CH Out of State chances!!! PLEASE help!

Okay, so I’m a junior from Ohio that is interested in applying to UNC-CH for the fall of 2016! UNC is my dream school so I plan on applying early action.

My high school is the second best in the state and one of the top 100 in the country.
I take all honors and AP classes.
I’m definitely more of a maths/sciences student and plan on going into pharmacy.

ACT Composite - 26
ACT Math - 28
ACT Reading - 29
ACT Science - 25
ACT English - 23 (Trust me, I know I need to boost my English score. It’s not my strong subject.)
GPA - 3.87 unweighted (My high school doesn’t weight.)

EC’s:
Four-year letterer in soccer, team captain
Two-year letterer in basketball (Tore my ACL)
Secretary of my swine 4-H Club
14 year member of my swine 4-H club
President of Pep Club
Member of Library, Spanish, and Art Club
Member of National Honor Society
Youth group member at my church
Volunteer Christmas caroler every Christmas
Volunteer at my church’s Thanksgiving dinner.
Volunteer at many different basketball camps and tournaments for little kids
Volunteer as a house/dog sitter.
Work at my families farm.
Babysitting for multiple families 15-20 hours a week
Etc.

So I know it’s really hard to get into UNC as an out of state student but I was just wondering if anyone has any advice or knows what I could do to get into UNC, or my chances. Thank you!!!

As of right now, high reach. Get that ACT up to a 33+

I have to agree that your test scores are very low for UNC-CH from out-of-state. Re-try the ACT, and sit for the SAT at least once, but I think that it’s probably out of reach if you are below 30/2000, and a reach even in that range. What is it about UNC-CH that particularly appeals to you? I suggest that you start identifying other colleges that share the same attributes.

Hey, I’m in the same position. I want to attend UNC-CH as well, and will be applying at the same time. You have good EC’s, but the ACT is a little low. Would you mind chancing me as well? Good luck, I hope you get in!!!

Good ECs, good GPA for UNC-CH but as everyone says, low ACT. Even if you do get your ACT up to about 29-30, I think you’ve a good chance with so many diverse ECs (write a good essay). Best of luck, mate.
