UNC-CH

I applied early action to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this past week. I am worried I won’t get in because of my average ACT score and because I’m out of state.

English ACT- 23

Please let me know!

It will be really hard because I believe the ACT scores for UNC hover around 32-34.

Agree, however, you come from a very underrepresented demographic. I think it’s good that you emphasize it, but I do think you won’t be getting in to Chapel Hill unfortunately.

I agree - it’s looking like a no. That being said, UNC is weird, they let in a strange mix of people, so I wouldn’t count yourself out. However, the amount of OOS kids they let in is extremely small since it’s a public NC system school, and your ACT is pretty weak.
I don’t know if you have time to try it again and send a second score? If you took one early November/December and sent the score straight there it would probably make it, and if you study a lot and bring it up you would definitely have a better chance.
