i think that you have a decent shot. My scores are VERY similar to yours.( you posted in my thread. :-) )
I am applying EA also...but im sending my stuff October 30. haha. 2 days before the deadline.

if your essays are good, and you have good recs, i think you have a good shot.

i hope i have a good shot...i really want to go here.

we should chat on AIM..there arn't many indians over in Idaho..in fact, im the only indian guy here(less than 20)..

yea def. unc will be awesome next year. that is if i acctually get in. you can AIM me. im on lilke ALL the time. haha. PERKYDESI

so anyone else have anything..

I'd agree you have a good shot. Morehead is ridiculously hard. But as far as getting into the school, I would say you have a good chance.

I visited UNC-CH over the summer, and I just love the school! Yeah Tar Heels!

Anyways I am an out-of-stater as well applying for Early Action. Sorry to burst your bubbles but UNC-CH is a really hard school to get into. We all stand a decent shot (my stats are similar) but they have this quota for 82% of the students have to be from North Carolina. Having that said, 18% is out-of-state and international. As we all know, UNC-CH is a prestigious school so lots of kids will be applying for a limited amount of spaces. Most of the scholarships go to the North Carolina kids and those out-of-staters who normally make it in have super high SAT's and GPA's. Scholarship-wise...the typical North Carolinian who receives a scholarship has a 1520 SAT.

If we get in, GREAT!!! But don't feel bad if you're rejected. I know I will most likely be rejected. Merit-wise, we are all more than qualified to go but due to their quotas, acceptance is really hard. However if you've got a sports hook, your chances will be raised. But if we all lived in North Carolina, it would be a different story and we'd all be shoe-in's but that is not the case. My counselor said UNC-CH is like a public ivy when it comes to acceptance.

Some other NC schools you might be interested are NC State, Elon, Wake Forest, and Duke. I am also considering applying to the University of Georgia but I don't think I have the time to write the essays. Other good schools in Georgia are GeorgiaTech and Emory. The only school I have heard about in Tennessee is Vanderbilt. All are excellent schools and it never hurts to try! Don't worry too much about college acceptance, we'll all get in somewhere!

So good luck to both of you and who knows, we may get in! You never know!

thanks guys so much. UNC is super hard to get into. i know that. but i guess i might as well try for the best. or what i think is the best anyway :-)
thanks for your help and hope to see yall in UNC next yearr

so im bored and hoping for more evaluations :-)

lalalala.... .hehe

perkydesi,

what major did you apply as? i think i'm opting for biology. you're so lucky that you already applied! i am rushing to meet the deadline...one week! i wish they came out with the application earlier but i'll make it!

im doing biology too. isnt that awesome. the application was out like 3-4 months ago..haha. i just really wanted to go here soi started on it super early.

Yeah I started working on my essays back in late August but it's been so busy between work, school, and SAT's! Thank God the SAT's are over...FOREVER! All I have to do is put the finishing touches on my essays for the November 1st deadline (three schools' deadline-- eeek!)

UNC was my first choice until I found this dental/pre-dental program out in California. I am pretty confident I will make it into the California school...but UNC is where my heart is! If I make it in, boy will it be so hard to choose between the two schools!
