UNC CHAPEL HILL - CHANCES FOR FALL 2014

Mornin' CC,

I would love to know what my chances are (if any, at all) of getting accepted to UNC Chapel Hill as a transfer junior.

High School:
3.0 GPA
JROTC C/2LT
Varsity Lacrosse + Soccer

College:
Marion Military Institute - Marion, AL
3.4 GPA (3 semesters worth with 3.8 last semester)
Corps of Cadets - Cadet First Sergeant
Phi Theta Kappa
National Scabbard & Blade Military Honor Society
Dean's List - Fall Semester 2013

EXTRAS:
Volunteer work with Marines Helping Marines Foundation, Paralyzed Veterans of America, The San Miguel School,Wounded Warrior Project, and Maryland Department of Natural Resources

Paid work with 3 separate jobs since 2010.

Tests:
SAT - 540 Reading/590 Math/550 Writing

I understand that my stats are not really that impressive, however my application does reflect great improvement and leadership experience through Marion's Corps of Cadets.

I have probably left something out. If so, I apologize. It will be interesting to hear back from some of you guys to see whether or not I actually have a chance!

Thanks all,

Holden Roberts

What state do you live in? UNC is very hard to get into from out of state.

Best of luck

Its a possibility, but it is a far reach. UNC is one of the most applied too school. Even coming from in State (I live in Chapel Hill) it isn’t very easy.

Thanks folks. Permanent residence is in Washington DC. I go to school in Alabama.
