Hi! I am applying to UNC as a junior transfer from GWU. I had a 3.9 GPA in high school and a 3.37 at GW with pretty challenging courses. My SAT score is a 1970. I had an internship on Capitol Hill with my congressman for a semester and am involved in the Sigma Alpha Lambda service fraternity, College Republicans, and GW club ice hockey team. I have three letters of recommendation I plan to submit. I wrote my essay on how I have changed my plan of study since beginning college from political science to economics/business and focused on how I want to finish my undergrad at UNC as an econ major and then continue in their Master of Accountancy program. What do you think my chances are?

Thanks!!

High school stats count less for junior transfers than they do for junior transfers. A 3.37 GPA is fairly good, and that it’s from a prestigious university will surely be a consideration. Based on the stats you’ve presented, and the generally lower standards for junior transfers, I believe your chances are good.

Thanks for your post! Hopefully it works out!
