UNC Chapel Hill Chances.

Hello,

I am a bit desperately trying to get into UNC Chapel Hill because I absolutely adore the school and honestly feel like it would be the best and maybe only fit for me.

Unfortunately I am out of state, but barely. I grew up my entire life about 10 minutes from the NC border in a small Virginia town. I've always loved North Carolina and really felt my loyalty very much more to that state.

In high school I didn't do so well at all. I'm not going to sugarcoat it I pretty much had like a 2.0 or something, I'm not even sure because I never cared enough to actually know what it was.

However I did accomplish some things that none of my fellow peers didn't. I was very active in the DECA club and was the first person in over 20 years of our chapter to ever win a title in the State Leadership Conference (after winning 1st place in the District Leadership Conference) and went on to attend the International Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City where I won an International Finalist Award in the Human Resources Category.

Currently I am a student at a community college in Virginia where I am making all A's and hope to keep that up and graduate with my Associates in Business Administration with a 4.0. I know that for UNCCH applicants much admit their college transcripts as well as high school and I'm afraid that my high school transcripts and GPA will really work against me. However I read on their website that when you transfer in as a Junior and have completed a good amount of college credits that your high school stats are less important. I am a member of a couple clubs which I hope to get an officer postion with, Phi Theta Kappa, and Maker Collab. I work a part-time job that's very sales oriented and I do a very good amount of volunteer work around my community.

I really do want to get into this college because I really feel it would be the best fit for me and my future. If anyone could give me chances and possibly some advice on how to increase my chances it would be greatly appreciated.

I honestly don’t know much about transfers but I am 99% sure they do not have the instate quota for transfers.

Hi, I think I know what you mean by that but I’m not exactly sure. Could you clarify?

If you complete the ABA degree then community college grades will be given far more weight than high school ones, in which case everything rides on how UNC weights CC grades vs. high school grades.

Yes that’s what I was thinking as well, I also hope to land an internship with a local real estate company as well. Maybe it would be beneficial to send a letter along with my application explaining my high school grades
