Decisions come out last Friday of January so most like the 29th (with small chance they might actually come out January 22nd)
May send email the Wednesday before decisions saying “your decision will not be released today or tomorrow” indicating they will be released that friday.
My younger son got his notification Friday the 24th, accepted. Comparing my two sons, the oldest was declined EA at UNC Chapel Hill, with a better GPA (4.96 vs 4.80, class rank (3rd vs 7th), SAT, ACT 33 vs 31 and that 31 was superscored from several 29’s). Both varsity athletes, lots of extra curriculars, Carolina born, same address when applying. Both did summer immersion programs in relative fields. Oldest accepted at Wake, but still don’t understand how he missed Carolina. $200k swing in cost, 3 notches in US nEws & World Report ranking. Only difference I can see is youngest was class VP. Will never understand admissions.
I feel your pain…I had the opposite …oldest was accepted last year with lower GPA and lower SAT; daughter was waitlisted last week with far superior stats. I cannot understand it at all. Wake is a GREAT school!!!
Wake is awesome. My son turned down UNC for the smaller classes (5-8 students per class in his major), the close relationships with professors (not TA’s) and the collegiate feel of the campus. He’s never looked back.
