@mufan72: As you probably know, it is very hard to get accepted Out of state. While his ACT is good, you didn’t really provide enough information for a good chancing (chancing is not very accurate even with complete information, much less without). If you provided other info, such as AP scores, extracurriculars, sports, etc., it would be helpful.

@mufan72, if you choose to post additional stats, please create a new thread in the forum [University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill - College Confidential](University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill - College Confidential Forums) for the chancing opportunity instead of appending the post to this thread, [thread=1563313]UNC Chapel Hill EA Applicants 2018[/thread]

I know that recs have to be submitted by Nov 1st as they stated on their website. However, as I was hoping for QuestBridge decisions, I did not send in my counselor rec until Nov 13th, but a few days later my to do’s list is empty. So should I worry about this? I have not thought about it until a few recent days since it is very near to the end of this month.

Didn’t we get an email a few weeks ago telling us they would send another email to explain how to check admission decisions? We have to get that before we get a decision if I am remembering right

Yes I believe we did get something like that…although now I can’t seem to find it so I’m not positive. I guess we’ll see in a few days!!!

I got no such email…

I think it was something in the UNC Admissions Blog.

It’s discussed under comments here: [This Week?s FAQs | University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill | Office of Undergraduate Admissions](http://admissions.unc.edu/admissions-blog/2014/01/07/this-weeks-faqs/#comments)

It says: You’ll receive an email a day or two before decisions are posted that will give you all the details about how you can view your decision online. Thanks!

Just FYI. It also says: Hi Greer, Yes, the vast majority of EA decisions are released at the same time. There is always a small handful of students whose decisions are not ready yet (for a variety of reasons, but often because their application completed late and we haven’t been able to complete our review yet). But we do everything we can to have everyone’s decision ready at the same time. If you’re in that small minority who won’t receive a decision with everyone else, we’ll let you know by email. Thanks for the question!

Ahh yes I did read it on the blog. Thanks for finding that!

Asked off work for Friday. Don’t wanna be crying from rejection while ringing up groceries

True story…I was at beach today and a lady was wearing an UNC shirt. I asked if she had gone there and she told me she worked in admissions office. I told her that I had applied and she went on to explain how hard it is to get into UNC and get merit aid if you are OOS. Talk about putting a damper on a beautiful 80 degree day at the beach. She said another issue is that many OOS students that are admitted dont attend if they dont get Robertson or Morehead-Cain scholarhships

That’s nothing we don’t already know. Sure it’s really hard to get in but some people do!! Let’s cross that bridge when/if we get to it :)

Would it be possible that on Jan 24 EA decisions are released? I’m extremely anxious…

@summerdays there’s been some speculation about that, because decisions were released on that Friday last year and because we think releasing the decisions on the 31st wouldn’t give people enough time to plan for traveling for scholarship day. But no one (probably not even the admissions people) knows for sure

@summerdays @creuland also, on their website they’re saying Connect Carolina will be down on the 23rd…we’ll find out soo either way…shudders

I predict we’ll get an instruction email on Wednesday or Thursday with decisions available on Friday afternoon. I really just want to know, but I don’t think I’ll be able to look!

What time have decisions been available in the past?

Ahhh I’m so nervous for this Friday!

I think 4:30
