UNC Chapel Hill EA Applicants 2018

Deferred in state. My midyear grades are great, but I am still so worried. I really thought a 36ACT, upward trend in grades, and good ECs would get me in… Does anyone know how many they defer/let in afterwards?

Interested to find out what the EA admissions rate is instate. 9 people from my school applied, and if I got in, I’m sure that every body else did!

Deferred in state. Very surprised since others from my school had lower gpa. Mid year grades are great so crossing fingers!

Accepted out of state! 34 ACT, top 10%

@illiriks
You didn’t get into UNC In-state with a 36 ACT score?!?! Any idea why not? Schools sometimes defer students with great scores and such (not talking about top 20 schools) because they want to see senior year grades?

@matrixsurgeon I had a lot of personal problems as an underclassman, so my GPA came out to a 3.1/4.36. I addressed this in my essay and my counselor wrote about it too, and my grades as a junior were good (maybe a 5.4 weighted with an all AP schedule, and I got 5s on all my APs).

I got accepted out of state with 3.7 gpa and 2350 SAT superscored (2330 best single time). 800 on math SAT II, 770 World history SAT II.

rejected oos. I suppose it was a long shot anyway

When I posted in chances threads, people told me it was a reach. Haha to them.

Rejected oos too

Same here, when I posted his stats I was told it was a loongg shot OOS!!! lol

@saona63, just goes to show that CC isn’t always right! Great job!

Deferred OOS
33 ACT
3.95 UW, 4.32 W
12 APs
good ECs, good essay, great letters of rec
attend top 50 public high school in country
What do you think my chances are getting accepted regular?

I’m a happy OOS mom right now:)

Accepted OOS. Woot!

@illiriks did you apply anywhere else? Man, that surprises me immensely. I thought you were in for sure 100%. Sorry man, really hope you get in (and I’ve gotta think you will. )

Again, OOS acceptances are unpredictable, for the most part, for UNC.

Anyone know about when we will receive our actual letters?
Congrats to everyone who was accepted!

same here , when i was asking ppl to chance me for unc, they said it was way too hard for me to get in…
but hey ACCEPTED INSTATE!
