@RSchwarz i did get into mich

Anyone else concerned with how they’re going to pay for this school upon acceptance? (OOS people?)

@ilikefoood Oh, Congrats!!! Hopefully they will get back to me soon.

UNC actually seems to be pretty good for aid. The calculator said it would cover a lot even though I am OOS.

I did both UVA and UNC. Absolutely dreading the day of truth…but at the same time, I cannot wait. OOS is so scary.

You will be able to log into your portal and see your letter as soon as decisions are released. They will also send a letter by snail mail but willnot mail those letters until after the decisions are posted on-line. Be prepared for computer crashes since thousands will be logging in at the same time on the date that decisions are due to be posted. Be patient!

I applied and got into Rutgers, Boston College, and JMU so far…can’t wait till the end of january haha so many decisions being released then

@ilikefoood how have you heard back from both tulane and stanford already? both have single choice early action and they are both private so as far as i know neither fits into the “public school exception”

the unc blog says they a) will not tell a date and b) do not send out emails. so we will have to be ocd-checking our mail and unc accounts every day until the end of jan… SO annoying…

Is it weird that I do that for UNC and UVA anyway O_O?

So far I’ve gotten into Rutgers University, Penn State, and Indiana University. I got deferred from Tulane and I’m still waiting to hear back from 5 other schools (including UNC!). I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get in because OOS acceptance rates are ridiculous, but maybe there’s a chance I’ll get deferred. Good luck to everyone else! These next two weeks are going to be the best or the worst of my life! I hear back from three other schools in this time frame too

@kickinit I did RD at tulane and got the presidential scholarship in early november. For public schools you can still apply ea if you do rea at stanford

Sent from my SGH-T839 using CC App

@reglob Congrats on you admissions!!! I am in the same boat with OOS for UNC. I almost fainted when I learned about the 18% OOS class stat. I also think I am going to get deferred.

I got into Indiana, University of Illinois, and Wisconsin-Madison. I also got deferred from Michigan, so I think I am going to get deferred from UNC and UVA. However, I am starting to have more faith in the “don’t worry about the ACT and GPA” line I keep getting, because I wasn’t even in the middle 50% for Michigan’s ACT or GPA (actually like a couple digits off) and I got deferred. My essays, clubs, leadership, and course rigor seemed to make up for it.

anyone else anxious for this friday?!

@Rschwarz94 thanks! you too I just got into Wisconsin yesterday too!
@laxxxbro they’re coming out for UNC this friday?!

@reglob
You can make some inferences based on previous release dates and thus predict this Friday. For example I will use UVA :

UVa going back to 2006 has released decisions about 5 days earlier, always on the 26th (of March). Going back the same number of years I can see that a post on the blog about decision date has been 3 days before decisions are released. I can then reasonably assume that since the latest notification date is the 31rst of January (Tuesday), and that admissions day has been Friday 4/5 times ( the 1/5 being Thursday) that the 26th or 27th will be the day decisions are released (both a Thursday and a Friday), and thus three days earlier (23rd or 24rth) will be the day they tell us when the decisions will be posted.

To apply this to UNC, however there is less of a pattern, we see that decisions are usually posted from the 14th on, and more recently after the 20th, most likely due to higher applicant pool (last two years 21th and 31st are dates of release) and since UNC says they will inform by late January (assuming that means after the 15th and no later than the 31st) we can predict that they will release on or between Friday 20th and 27th since end of the week is a good time to release decisions.

My counselor got an email yesterday that decisions will be posted within the week(by Friday)

Sweet! I was hoping for this Friday but there was a good chance that it could be this or next Friday (the 27th). I’ll be checking at 4:50pm on Friday then! Thanks

In the interest of possibly saving someone some panic (in case this happens again), last year some EA applicants received a message indicating no application was on file for them when they checked their accounts around 5:00 PM on the 21st. My daughter was among those people. Needless to say, that was disheartening. If you get this message, it is due to a system hiccup and should be ignored. Keep trying.

I really hope it’s friday. That’s the last day of my semester. I have this page and the unc blog bookmarked so I can constantly check for updates on my phone in school…I’m a little obsessed. Nearly 1/3 of my class applied, and I’d love to be the first to know among them :)

i really hope it’s Friday…i will be so disappointed if it’s not. I also get my Emory Scholars decision sometime this week too so rahhhh.
