the kitesurfer.

Has anyone with an average/low GPA been accepted?

Probably not, especially since its ED.

ED doesn’t have any applicants with lower stats?

I’m sure it does. However, they were probably deferred or more likely denied.

I’m starting to feel as though I don’t have any shot at being accepted RD haha, well, congratz to all of you that got in, you are very very lucky :)

I’m actually one of the applicants with lower stats (so I speak from first hand experience). But I haven’t received a letter yet, good luck to the rest of you!

Just wondering, does anyone know what the myUNC website say if you are rejected? Does it say “rejected” or “denied” or what?

My daughter and several classmates received acceptance letters in the mail yesterday.
OOS - VA (NoVA). Good luck to everyone!

Accepted In State 1930 SAT 5 AP Classes 3 sport athlete and Beta Club Pres.

Here is another accepted homeschooler! I am SO shocked and excited. I honestly thought I would be deferred since I know so many other people with stellar SATs and APs who applied. However I think my interesting background, combined with my portfolio and essays made a difference!

Homeschooled, Bi-racial, Female
No dual enrollment. All classes done at home.

SAT: Composite 1820 (CR 670, M 530, W 620)
SAT Subject Tests: Biology 670, US History 600, World History 610, Literature 700

Extra Curricular: Current Vice Pres. of volunteer group, former Secretary of same group, 400 hours of volunteering at volunteer group since 2008 (Founding member, been in it since 2008) Worked at library since 2010. A handful of other misc one time volunteering events/service projects, two science summer camps in 2008&2009, One of my supervisors at work wrote me a recommendation letter.

Portfolio: I submitted a portfolio including a transcript, very detailed 30 page course description (including elective courses), student resume, list of museums I have been to, printed version of a powerpoint presentation I made for Physics, and a 15 page college style research paper I wrote for my Gender Studies elective.

My essays were strong and about homeschooling…
I did not take AP exams (too much a hassle since I am homeschooled)
Basically all my english and science classes and a few electives are marked Honors on my transcript and weighted, and it is explained in my course description why the courses are Honors-worthy. My mother as my Councilor/School Principal/Teacher wrote a strong homeschool mission statement. A’s and B’s as far as grades go on my transcript.

I hope the results come out online tonight for everyone still awaiting letters! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! =)

Jadexx congrats! Just curious are you oos?
