I feel more like that @LOVEUNC‌

@strandedinhell‌ sincerely hope your accepted is true at the start of loop and suggest getting a break after depression() .

@LOVEUNC‌ I’ll agree with that code as well (though it’s best not to use breaks hehe)

Where are you transferring from? Are you also transferring as a Junior for CS?

@strandedinhell respect your choice.
I am at NCSU applying as sophomore.

Applied on 2/3 as a Junior transfer (currently a sophomore) from a private university in Wisconsin
college gpa: 3.65 (with an upward trend)
hs gpa: 3.74 UW, most rigorous schedule possible (8 APs)
ACT: 31
ECs: Nothing special. I was captain of my varsity golf team in high school for two years. Don’t really have any extracurriculars from college but I’ve had a part-time job working about 20 hours a week since I started college.
Thought my essay was decent and sent 1 letter of recommendation from a professor that liked me a lot.

I’m really hoping I get accepted. I’ve always wanted to go to UNC but was rejected after high school. I’m out of state which probably hurt my chances at 1st year admissions but I don’t think residency matters for transfer admissions or at least that’s what I heard.

Good luck everyone!!

Does ACT or SAT really matter? Because I don’t have one lol, although they said it not the requirement for junior transfer but I am still wondering that…

@Ecccon , I don’t think so. I did take my SAT’s like 3 years ago but my score was terrible so didn’t report it!

@ecccon SATs will matter less and less as you gain more college credits. If you have around 60 or more (junior status) I doubt it will matter a great deal at all.

Applied as a junior and I’m from an OOS community college, so I don’t know if my chances are that high really, but here are my stats.

59 credits now, 66 at the end of the semester
Major: economics
GPA: around 3.85-3.9

Also, does anyone know how the econ program is at UNC? Is it highly regarded or no?

@Gabeking SG UNC’s economic program is ranked top 32 in the nation. Pretty solid.
Saw so many people post stats so I decided to follow the trend.
My stats:
Applicant status: Sophomore
Current college : NC State.
college gpa : 3.76.
high school gpa UW: 3.7 W: 4.7. (National AP scholar.)
(Came to US 2nd semester of high school sophomore year gave my best to improve English, maintain academics)
SAT; 1980 combined: 1360.
ECs: Software testing at Blackberry, computer lab monitor at NC state, math/English tutor, flash animation video characteristic of UNC, personal website design, android app design, java program design, self study cs for some time and English reading ( 100+ novels and 4 dictionaries since English is not my native) for a long time, assorted volunteering hours 100+.
Recommendation L & PS: did my best.
Really hope to get into UNC’s CS first and then BS/MS combined CS program.
Check out my flash animation and share it on fb buddies:

Good luck to everyone ! Update: 41 more days to go.

Yay! Thank you!

Thank you a lot!

Since I only have 59 credits and I applied as a junior, does that mean I’ll probably be a late decision until my current school releases my grades? (In May)

Applying to UNC from a lower-ranked state school.
GPA: 4.0, Dean’s List, Presidential Scholarship, Emerging Leaders Scholar (one of 50 selected out of class of 3600)
AP/IB credits: 87; on-campus: 17
Biomedical sciences major, changing to political science
HS GPA: 3.63 (IB diploma recpient, 31 points, average AP score 4.86 out of 5)
2160 SAT

Extracurriculars since college:
-Boko Haram governance research intern for CENTCOM, State Dept, etc, only 1st year accepted
-Biophysics research assistant
-Disease awareness group president/founder (~$1000 raised; speaker; planted 1231 flags for awareness)
-Publication in Baltimore Sun, Georgetown Public Policy Review, etc.
-Cancer Center volunteer
-Former newspaper correspondent

High school:
-300+ volunteer hours
-1st place nationally greek life and literature latin club

@screen8888 your profile is so impressive !!! In fact I think you are guaranteed.
Are you applying to other schools?

@LOVEUNC I’m applying to UVA, Reed, UPenn, Cornell, and American U as well for their poli-sci/international relations programs. I’m thanking God right now that UVA, UNC, Reed, and American don’t see my midterm grades though lol. My mid-term this semester ended up being a 3.5 (Organic 1, upper level bio course, physics 2, biopsychology) cause I slipped up quite a bit. UPenn and Cornell will see those grades, so I’m hoping my extracurriculars just might carry me though. Where else are you applying @loveunc? And I take it that UNC is your top choice?

@screen8888‌ all these schools are terrific !!! I can imagine you must have worked very hard to write so many essays (thumbs up) . Don’t worry about midterm grade. You are taking hard classes and they will understand it.
You are right. UNC is my number one choice. I have also applied to Ohio State/UMD. Weeks ago OSU gave me offer but my heart belongs to Carolina lol and really don’t wanna pay OOS tuition with little financial aid.

Just received an email from UNC content as follows:

I rushed to check my Carolina student center but my to do list is empty as usual( I checked it every day.) I refreshed the page again and again but still list is empty. I called UNC immediately but it’s closed already.

Anyone has some advice on how to deal with this situation? I have my to do list emptied a week before deadline but what happened just now ?!?! TAT

UNC won’t open during spring break which means I can’t get to know what is missing at earliest March 16.
My dear to do list is always empty from a week before deadline to this second because I check it on a daily basis.
I got this email by 5:06 p.m and checked it immediately because I have gmail notification app installed in my laptop.
I am nearly crying
