Thread for anyone interested in applying as a Sophomore Transfer to UNC-Chapel Hill for Fall, 2017!
I attended a high school right outside of Chapel Hill, Cedar Ridge High School. I did not apply to Carolina initially.
Current University/College: Freshman at Indiana University-Bloomington
Current College GPA: 3.88
Major: Game Design
Total credits at the end of Freshman Year: Around 32, plus a few AP credits.
SAT Score (New): 1340 out of 1600
High School GPA (Unweighted): 3.3
High School GPA (Weighted): 4.2
8 APs
Work Experience: Around 20 hours a week in the summer, serving at a restaurant.
Volunteer Experience: Play music at an old folks home in the summers.
Extracurriculars: Music (Guitar, Piano, Vocals, Lessons), lengthy hockey career playing on some of the top teams in the country, club soccer, and Brazilian jiu jitsu
College Clubs: Hoosier Games, Hapkido Club

Why would you want to go to chapel hill. Indiana and UNC–CH are equally good schools. I would say recruiting opportunities for game design would be bad for each, unless you are considering NC State. Wolfpack Nation!

i transfered in last year to UNC. Based on these stats, I would say you have a really good chance of getting in to UNC. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Best of luck to you in the process.
Looking to transfer to UNC after my my first year of college
College GPA: 4.0 after first semester (16 credits)
HS GPA: 3.9 weighted (attended a very rigurous high school with 8 people now at Chapel Hill)
SAT: 1220/1600
ACT: 26
EC: Three sports in high school: four years of baseball, two years of football, and one year of basketball. All-Conference baseball selection, BETA Club, National Honors Society, National Technical Honors Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, current college baseball player, sports writer for two websites and school paper, Volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club, Former Jimmy John’s Employee, $40,000 scholarship from my current college as well as a $24,000 scholarship from my current college
Internships:
3-month internship at an architect firm
Recommendation Letter:
Not completed yet but plan on having two recommendation letter sent
@FedMaster UNC and IU are not equally good schools.
