UNC: Match/High match

May as well want to apply at Duke and still realistically get into that school…

I don’t think I could get into any top-tier schools without applying ED, but that’s just from my research. Do I have any reason to believe I shouldn’t apply Early to schools like Duke, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, etc.?

Bumpppppppp

You’re a probable match/high match for UNC. You are above their Middle 50 for various stats, which should make you a shoo in. I’ll take your word that they are harder for OOS, so that’s why it might be a high match.

As for applying early, you can only apply ED to one school, as those are binding decisions. I’m pretty sure that EA is as many as you want, so you’d have to look into what type of early application Northwestern and Duke have.

Hey there! I, from personal experience know someone who got into UNC with lesser credentials. You have a great chance. I think you should just focus on the subjective parts of the application, the essay, and make yourself stand out amongst the crowd.

Chance me back?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1509570-chance-me-brown-columbia-boston-u-uva-upenn.html

I’m just wondering if I could actually get into any top-tier schools regular decision.

Almost forgot:

You have great stats and are likely to be highly competitive (note that I say nothing about chances, as I
have no idea- you can read some of my other posts regarding my thoughts on chancing students). That being said, the salutatorian of my son’s HS class did NOT get into UNC, while he did (he was in the top 10 in the class and had a lower ACT score than the salutatorian). What he lacked in grades and test scores, he made up for with community service and overall character.
