UNC-Chapel Hill OSS & Vanderbilt

I feel like I need to know my chances at admission before I apply, and also, my chances for scholarship money, since I do not know if I can afford either of these schools. My schedule has become extremely tight and I would like to know whether or or not it would be worth squeezing in two more applications.

I would really like some feedback, if at all possible, thank you for your help!

shameless bump

really good grades especially in sophomore year.

I think your chance to all of these are good, but one more unique EC would almost guarantee it.

I’d say you’re in at those schools. Good luck.

By the way, what did you do to increase your science score by 8 points??? I’m having some trouble, so if you could pm me that would be great

I just picked up a copy of the Real ACT and used the four tests in there as well as the one they have online to practice.

I learned to change my strategy. Before, I read every little word and so I got bogged down and attached to the meanings. Now, I try to think about as little as possible and just match up number to number. to save time, then I go back in and recheck everything.

I’d say in at both.
esp. UNC.

you should be in in any of those schools. nice job.

hey, thanks for reviewing my chances, sorry it took so long to respond, well…

I’d say it’s deffinately worth the time to do the applications. I was considering applying to UNC a while back and if i remember correctly their application isn’t really that long. And if you’ve already filled out the common app for another school, all you’d be lacking for Vanderbilt would be the supplement. And i’d say your probably in at both, at least at UNC. If you go to their website, you can find a profile of their student body and their OOS accepted students. If i remember correctly the the average ACT and GPA, even for OOS students, was far lower than yours. Well good luck.

Really? I can’t seem to find any profile specifically pertaining to OOS students…

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it!

Thanks for your input regarding my post. I’d say that you have a great shot at either of the schools you’ve mentioned – very stong extracurriculars, great ACT scores, good GPA. I’m not all that familiar with the application requirements for UNC Chapel Hill, but I know that for Vanderbilt, there’s just an additional supplement to the Common App that’s required, so it shouldn’t be that much of an extra time commitment – and who knows what the payoff could be in the long run, right?

Best of luck, and thanks again for the help!

Does Vanderbilt offer a paper application? It says they do on their website, but when I go to download their forms it sends me to the Common App…

you have to do the common app with the suppliment. You should be able to print both off of the common app website if you want to do it on paper.

Sweet, thanks!
