I was wondering my chances of transferring as a junior into UNC Chapel Hill from a NC community college.
I am an instate resident
3.77 GPA
I tutor other students in general chemistry at school
I volunteer at the hospital in the surgery ward
I volunteer at a homeless shelter on weekends
I do work study in the chemistry department
I worked on a research project with a local lake, where the pH had become basic allowing algae to grow and take it over. We were working to find the reason and I attended a professional conference and presented what we found.
Member of the chemistry club
Member of the honors Phi Theta Kappa society
Work full time as a server
Took care of my father medically. He had severe emphysema and I took care of him by doing things such as bathing him and giving him medication and that sort of thing. I took care of him full time until his death last month. Now I live on my own so I am an independent now.
Also I will have several letters of recommendation. Most from my professors and one from the owner of the restaurant where I work.
If you all could give me any opinions about chances of acceptance it would be greatly appreciated.
