I was accepted to the Hussman School of Media and Journalism. My college GPA was a 3.89 overall; my high school GPA was around a 1.5

My ECs were pretty good. I was President of Phi Theta Kappa, VP of Communication for History Club, former VP of Fellowship of PTK. Member of Mock Trial Team. Worked full-time. Volunteer at animal shelter and non-profit org that sends cards to ill children in hospitals. I was also in my cmty college’s Honors Program.

My rec letter came from a professor who went to UNC. I didn’t send in test scores.

Accepted to CAS! I didn’t post my stats earlier, but just in case this helps anyone:

HS GPA: 92.38 unweighted, 95.67 weighted. I took a lot of APs and some college classes

College: Attend a T50 college, 3.9 GPA

didn’t submit ACT or SAT

A lot of high school and college extracurriculars with leadership positions.

Yeah does seem like it. Sucks a bit cause I know transfer very rarely get off the waitlist. I guess it’s better than a rejection though

I’m too lazy to screenshot the page lol but if you go on their website where they talk about waitlist they have a chart of how many waitlist people are taken each year

they say its a very small amount, but you never know, final grades do have an impact on your standing on the waitlist, hopefully since they did waitlist so many people maybe a few will come off

for those who is rejected by one college and accepted by CAS, do u have a special notification on the offer that said ur rej by the other college?
I applied for the public health: nutrition major in the Gillings School of Global Public Health but was accepted by CAS at the end. I am not sure whether this means I am rej by the School of Public Health…

I think it means you were rejected from the school of public health and accepted to CAS.

College: 4.0 (OOS)
EC: multiple internships and clubs, research at current uni

For future reference, I think the essays and short answers play a huge part
