Wow… I thought that was odd, but it makes sense for OOS. Looking at the previous years’ CDS for UNC, they have more than 5000+ enrolled, but they say they only have 4700 seats for the class of 2027.
There were 5340 new students enrolled in the fall of 2022. 4440 were first year students, and 900 were transfers. Out of the 4440 first years, there were about 800 OOS students (18% cap).

Starting to think they’re not gonna use the waitlist at all this year
I gathered some information based on the UNC common data sets, there were mainly double digits, with the occasional single and triple digits for admitted waitlist students. Common Data Set | OIRA

Yes!! Wondering if they’re looking at the waitlists now!!Though it was the same one sent last time.
I think they’ll start using it soon because otherwise they would’ve just told us they don’t have plans to use it. Plus it’s almost june. Really praying for us

We know it’s been some time since you accepted a place on our waiting list. If your plans have changed and you no longer want to be considered for admission this fall, you may remove yourself from the waiting list.

It is the second time they sent this email.
yeah I wonder why. I’m thinking it’s to just keep us in the loop that they still know they have us there. I’m thinking since they sent it as a reminder, they’re probably going to use the waitlist soon because they want to make sure everyone they have is still interested.

Although it’s frustrating to get the same email again, I’m thankful that they reminded students who have already committed to another school to drop UNC…ultimately giving us a bigger chance of admission!

has anybody called admissions to see if they would release more info on waitlists?
I doubt they’d give us any info but it’s worth a try
I have a feeling the first round will come by next week based off the email, and possibly 2 total rounds but if UNC is being generous, then 3. It seems like the last round is either sophomore guarantee or rejection.
I just called and apparently a small number of offers were made
