UNC Chapel Hill

Hi! I was just wondering if someone could give me some input. Chapel Hill is my dream school, and I would just like to know my chances and maybe some advice.

I am second in my class of forty-two students. I have a weighted GPA of 4.33 and unweighted 3.87. My high school is the top high school in North Carolina. I have in-state residency, and my mom attended UNC Chapel Hill so I am a legacy. I am applying early admission. I have an 1850 on the SAT(650 M, 610 W, 590 CR) and a 25 on the ACT(33 E, 24 M, 23 R, 21 S). I will be receiving my service learning award for all of my community service. I participate in the Distinguished Young Women of North Carolina program and also have attended the Catalyst Conference at UNC Chapel Hill.

Thank you!

UNC-Chapel Hill class profile: <a href=“Our Newest Class - Undergraduate Admissions”>http://admissions.unc.edu/apply/class-profile</a>
Your SAT is just above the 25th percentile (1780). The 75th percentile: 2110
ACT is much lower than the middle 50%: 28-33
Don’t submit your ACT score unless you have to.

I have heard legacy does not matter at UNC for in state students. Just thought I would let you know. Otherwise you have a good chance. I am going to be applying to UNC this year. I am nervous but excited :-S

With your GPA and your class rank and residency I think you have a great chance. How many students from your high school were accepted from the class of 2014 and what were their approximate class ranks? May be you can discuss this with your guidance counselor when school starts. Just be sure to have a couple of reasonable safeties.
