I am in-state for UNC. I have a 2100 sat, 4.5 gpa, my rank is in the top 25%(Yeah, freshman year messed me up), 100 volunteer hours and I have decent ecs. Plus I am ESL (English as Second Language) and I am an URM. What are my chances of getting into chapel hill instate? If you were accepted can you comment with your GPA, SAT score, EC’s, and volunteer hours? I am also looking for places to volunteer, so suggestions would be helpful.

I’d say you have a good shot. I also really want to go to UNC and am also in-state. We have similar GPA’s (mine is currently a 4.45 but will probably be a 4.55 by the end of the year), and we are both around the average GPA for Chapel Hill, which is 4.56 (keep in mind that the brainiac OOS admits skew this upward.) UNC is holding the “tar heel ten-miler” in Chapel Hill on April 18th, which would be great to volunteer at because it benefits UNC’s Lineberger Cancer Center. Good luck and go Heels!

you are so in! It also helps that you are in-state. I remember when I toured there that they accept many in-state people over out of state
