UNC Chapel Hill

Hi everyone thanks for clicking on my post and for any future advice or comments you may post. I’m a second semester junior in an early college high school and like everyone else worried about getting into my first choice school, unc chapel hill. I am in state and currently have about a 3.7 and scored a 2025 on the SAT. I have been in several leadership positions at my school including HOSA and Debate Club President, Key Club Treasurer, and SGA Rep. I’ve been swimming for the past 10 years competently and have just recently become a year around life gaurd working about 8 hours a week. I also have about 300 volunteer hours and have just obtained an internship at a local hospital. The only thing I am worried about is my gpa. I feel like a gpa of a 3.7 even with strong extracurriculurs may be too low to be competing at a top school like UNC. Any advice? Am I stressing over nothing or should I focus more on safety schools? Thanks in advance.

No, a 3.7 is just average. Have you taken AP classes or rigorous courses? Are you applying EA or ED? Or RD? You’re in-state, so the admissions rate is not nearly as selective as out of state, so definitely apply!

All honors or dual enrollment im.not sure if I should apply early or wait for a higher gpa
