Has anyone gotten decisions lately? My son applied Jan 11 and nothing yetā¦
Congrats to those who have been accepted to UNC Charlotte. My DD20 is currently a sophomore at UNC Charlotte. She began her college life at UNC Wilmington Fall 2020 during crazy COVID times to only be on campus for 3 weeks before being sent home. She decided to transfer to UNC Charlotte Spring 2021. She did spring 2021 online through UNC Charlotte. Finally, this year she has been in Charlotte (living off campus apartments) and attending school in person. She is finally getting that college experience. During her high school time when she was applying to schools, UNC Charlotte was the last decision she received. Iām not sure why it takes them so long but the decision finally came and who knew she would end up there when it was originally her last choice. Enjoy your childās senior year it goes so quickly and once their in Charlotte itās hard to get them to come home for a weekend.
Thatās great for your daughter! What didnāt she like about UNCW? My daughter has both on her list. Thank you.
@overstressedMom it was a mix of things. UNCW was her dream school. However, with COVID things changed completely. She left her high school sweetheart back home, some classes were in person some online. Everyone in masks, restrictions like crazy. Was only on campus for 3 weeks before being sent home. After coming home, she decided she wanted to be closer and UNCC is only an hour away. She made the right decision for her as sheās loving Charlotte. UNCW was a good 3.5 hours away. Who knows what would have happened during a normal year. Iāve learned over these last couple of years though our kids have their dream/desired schools sometimes they make decisions that suit them and things change. Wishing your daughter the best of luck.
Got it. Iām sure it was a very stressful time. Glad she found where she belongs!
My daughter got her decision through the portal today! She was accepted, but actually just committed to Florida Southern College this weekend ā she wants to do nursing, and FSC is a direct admit BSN program, whereas both UNCC and UNCW admit you as āpre-nursingā and you have to re-apply to the actual BSN program soph/junior year. Itās stressful/competitive, and thereās a risk sheād have to switch majors, or go for for 5 years, which isnāt a risk we are willing to take, with a perfectly good alternative!
Good luck to everyone!
