Keep grinding guys. You’ll be aight

Hey guys, I’m a junior. I have a 4.74/4.0 GPA and have taken all honors and AP classes. I recently took the ACT and received a 26. I studied diligently for the ACT, and I am extremely frustrated. I will re-take the test this June and will continue to study, but I am unsure if I will be able to raise my score. Will a 26 and my high GPA get me into UNC? I have solid ECs, and I am the founder of a mildly popular sports website. I will also be attending the NC Governor’s School this summer.

Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Nothing

Strengths: SAT-ish / Leadership

Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: Good SAT, West coast? Asian, maybe?
General Comments: I was honestly kinda scared about getting in for nursing but at the same time I’m essentially going in undeclared so yeah. I’m really quite surprised, there’s a girl a few posters above that is honestly more qualified than I am (I got rejected from UCLA but into UNC, she the opposite) but my essay was one of the most cathartic things I’ve ever written so I think I showed myself well.

@nmehta98 You want to get your scores as high as possible so you have a higher chance. Your score is below the overall average in stats. I don’t think your EC’s will help if your scores are that low. What’s your UW GPA?

I don’t want to put too much down, but I was rejected OOS, which is totally okay! I did not have my heart set on this place, but congratulations to everyone who made it!

@nmehta98 // My ACT score was a 24 and I got accepted. UNC looks for well-rounded students. If you’re in-state, your chances are much better.

What the heck? My account still says that “My decision is not yet available.” How did you guys get your decisions?

My daughter’s financial aid package was updated overnight, too many loans, not enough grant.

@KaranMIT I would call the admissions office, decisions were released Friday
