@Amrfootball Very impressive high school career! I think you have a really good chance at getting in. Did you submit both your ACT and SAT? Your ACT scores are definitely a lot stronger. To be honest, I’m not exactly sure what they look for when giving out scholarships. I know there are some scholarships that you are automatically considered for if you apply Early Action so you might have chance at those.

@allthingstesla Thank you! I guess it’ll be a waiting game with scholarships until January haha.

If anyone else has any more information on what they look for in scholarship decisions it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

@helpfulandtrying My October SAT has still not been updated on my ConnectCarolina account, yet it was on my wolfpaw account for NC State. Is this the same deal for you?

@crocodilealligator -didn’t apply to NCState, but October scores have been posted to UGA portals. Wish that Carolina would post info about this so that we didn’t have to pester them.

@collegebound1516 Based on what I have read on the FA board, it is important to file the FAFSA application as early as possible. It is usually live on January 1. Some aid is given out on a first come first serve basis so some aid could run out. I suspect this applies to work study and some federal grants. You can fill out the FAFSA using estimates based on your 2014 return. Then after you file, you can update using the correct number. Once the numbers are updated, UNC will adjust your aid to reflect the changes.

Good luck everyone! UNC is everything I hoped it to be and more.

@helpfulandtrying My October SAT has been posted for all my schools except Carolina and my friends are saying the same thing. If it still doesn’t appear by the end of november then I’m re-sending them but hopefully it’ll show up soon!

@noname87 does that mean that jan 1 is the first day we can submit it?

For the 2016-2017 school year, January 1 is when the online version is released. For 2017-2018, it will be available earlier and you will use your 2015 tax return.

FYI if you use estimates, it is very easy to update the FAFSA once your final tax returns are filed and accepted.

Hey guys, I was hoping I could get some insight into my chances to be accepted EA.

@crocodilealligator or @carolinagirl2016 Have you heard anything else about the October SAT scores for UNC? I saw their blog post on 11/4 about having problems with them, but the Oct SAT scores still are not updated here.

They said Oct SAT scores will be updated by Nov 15th

The SAT scores are finally updated!

Do you know if they have started reviewing applications yet? (I’m guessing they have…?)

@student9988 I got an email last week saying my “application is currently under review” and they needed my dual enrollment college transcripts.

So yea, I’d say they have!

@Amrfootball If you don’t mind me asking, were they asking for your dual enrollment transcript from before this year? I just started dual enrollment this year/semester so I was wondering if I should be on the lookout for an email like that too.

@jasishere They specifically asked for the transcripts from a class I had taken last year actually. I took this one online through a different university than the college I am dual enrolling at currently.

As for this year, I’m in the same boat as you… They haven’t specifically asked for the transcripts from this semester, but I will probably go ahead and send them in anyway at the end of the semester just to be safe.

@Amrfootball Awesome, thanks!

Please chance me! UNC Chapel Hill is my dream college.
