Where can I see if my SAT scores got to them?

Your credentials are amazing. The only thing that will hurt against you is your state residency. And I think you did enough to surpass that. I would say “good luck” but your decision won’t have to do with luck only the hard work you put in. The only thing I’d be worrying about now is how much the tuition would cost. Your chances are about 90% so I wouldn’t worry at all

You are certainly very well qualified- congratulations! The only issue, as stated above, is your out of state residency. Does your school use Naviance? That may be helpful. I think you have a very good chance of getting in, but as you know being from OOS makes it hard to predict. Good luck!

@sen16r you can check on your connectcarolina account. For me, they have received both the October SAT and ACT, so I’d assume the same for you.

Chance me please

Does anyone know the exact date when the decisions will come out? The UNC website only says mid-January.

@panther2016 This is what someone said last year:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-north-carolina-chapel-hill/1703180-unc-class-of-2019-ea-thread-p1.html

I think last year’s decisions came out the 28th. btw, the site says “by the end of January.” :frowning:

@student9988 Yeah I’ve read that too from them officially. It does seem high but it makes sense that their national average is about 30% if their in state is 50% and out of state is like 15%

@jasishere thanks! That’s very helpful.

I’m a senior and I applied early action to chapel hill. I’m out of state! Could someone chance me?

@sen16r I’m not really the highest authority on this, but I think you may have a chance. UNC Chapel Hill is very competitive for OOS students. Your extracurriculars look really good, but your SAT score may be a problem, especially the CR. But again, I’m a student just like you, so I don’t know exactly what they are looking for. I hope it works out for you!

Hi! I applied OOS for EA.

I think it will set me apart which is important being out of state.

Counselor Rec: very good
Additional Rec: n/a
State: MN
School Type: public
Ethnicity:white
Gender: female
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): none i think

what do you think are my chances? I am absolutely in love with UNC. Keeping my options open though due to the OOS difficulty!

@irunforfun I put your chances at mid to high reach. I think your ACT score (mainly the math and science sections) and GPA may not be high enough for OOS. UNC is extremely competitive for OOS, so I think they would be expecting slightly higher scores. However, your extracurriculars and community service look great. I think at this point it could go either way. Definitely keep your options open, though, and apply to plenty of other schools.

This wait will seriously be the death of me

Teacher Recommendation: no clue… one was generic and the other I am hoping was good since it was from my math teacher from sophomore year who I am pretty close to. he is the same teacher who I tutored algebra 1 kids for, also the mathletes coach
