Waitlisted
Idk what my gpa was on a 4.0 scale but weighted is 96.4140

34 ACT
Crappy mid year grades, congrats to everyone who got in! Now onto Ivy day:)
My daughter was originally deferred and now waitlisted. NMF, unweighted 4.0, weighted 4.76, 2190 sat not superscored, 1/207, perfect midyear grades. 13 AP classes, tons of EC/service hours White Female out of state.
Son just received and email about merit aid…he was awarded the Carolina Fellows Scholarship. So check your e-mail!
I’m so grateful for my acceptance Does anyone know when aid packages come out?
info on scholarship from UNC website: Will I receive a merit scholarship?
Applicants who have been awarded a merit scholarship will receive an email within a week of receiving their admission decision.
Students who are not initially offered a merit scholarship will have multiple opportunities to earn an award once they have arrived on campus. Please visit our website to find more information about Scholarship Opportunities for Carolina students.
Am I being considered for Honors or any other special opportunities?
All students being offered admission were automatically considered for Honors Carolina, assured admission to our professional schools, and other special opportunities offered through the Excel@Carolina program. Those students who have been selected to participate in Excel@Carolina will soon receive a survey that will allow them to let us know more about their specific interests.
If you do not initially receive an invitation to participate in Excel@Carolina, please know that you’ll still have the opportunity to participate in many of these programs. All students who meet the GPA requirements may enroll in Honors courses on a space available basis, take advantage of the full array of Honors Study Abroad programs, and write an Honors thesis their senior year to be considered for graduating with Honors. Additionally, all students may apply for admission into any of our academic programs such as the Kenan-Flagler Business School and School of Media and Journalism once they meet the application requirements.
my D got an email saying this…“We are pleased to invite you to Explore Carolina, an on-campus event for all admitted students that will give you a chance to meet your future classmates and learn about the many opportunities that await you here. Please note that this is not orientation, but rather a chance to help you decide whether Carolina is the right place for you.

Did anyone decline being on the wait-list?
OOS rejected
102 gpa, straight A senior grades, involved in 8 clubs, 4 honor societies, national photography awards, editor in chief of yearbook, 4 years of a language, 100+ hours of community service, teacher letters from dean of english and math, and I’m a white girl from Texas. Definitely disappointed since the freshmen admissions rep thought I was the perfect fit for Carolina when I visited last spring. I honestly thought I would be lucky enough to be accepted but I think being OOS and applying regular decision really screwed me over. Hoping to go to community and then transfer next year.
Congrats to everyone accepted!
First deferred then wait listed. OOS, 3.83 UW Gpa, 4.21 Weighted. 31 ACT. Lots of honors and EC’s, 3 honor societes, president of one of them. Got in top choice school with two scholarships, so probably won’t sign up for the wait list. Sad for the OOS-ers who would make excellent students but are overlooked b/c they are OOS. Doesn’t seem fair. Good luck to everyone!
Hello! I’m an EA accepted student who has just withdrew my admission to UNC. Congrats to whoever takes my spot!!
did anyone receive their financial aid yet?
My daughter received hers on 3/14. In case it helps gauge timing, she applied and was accepted EA (late January). Her FAFSA and CSS Profile were submitted on 2/15. So it took about a month for hers to process.
did you get in?
I have similar stats to you, evareads. Just wondering, are you out of state?
when did you guys receive your financial aid packages from a regular decision admission
My daughter was originally deferred and is now waitlisted (OOS, legacy). 3.7 UW GPA and 32 ACT composite. Congrats to those accepted!
