Think about it, it’s not likely to be released on the weekend or Monday/Tuesday. And it’s promised by the end of January. Surely today, right?
@LAXaholic My son is waiting too (or rather, I am waiting and he’s out to lunch with friends). It will be a tough decision for him (if it’s not made for him) because business school is the only reason he’s applied to UNC and if he doesn’t get the direct admit through the EXCEL program, then there’s another application and wait (45% acceptance rate) to KF down the road. I’m not sure I like that gamble. And did they tell you that the average GPA of those admitted soph year is a 3.8?

In the past they don’t tell you decisions are coming out until they’re out
most colleges release decisions later in the week like on friday so it will most likely be today. colleges usually never release decision on monday/tuesday
Every year for the last 5 years decisions have been released on a Thursday or Friday (correct me if i’m wrong, believe I read that on another thread). If it’s supposed to be by “end of January,” and today is the last Friday of January, I would put my money on today. It’d be extremely uncharacteristic of UNC to do it over the weekend or in the beginning of the week next week. Honestly, I just want to know already so i’m hoping today

1-30-14 at 3:30pm (thurs)

and 1-28-16 at 4:25pm (thurs)
So, it should be today. Could be any time between now & 5:00.
I think I’m going on a long run now. It’s like 30 degrees and snowing here in Ohio, but I can’t postpone everything in my life for a decision that might not even come out today. Good luck, everyone, and I hope I return in an hour to find decisions are out and all our hopes realized!

Last year, Excel notices came out 4 days after admissions decisions. I believe they were e-mailed.

To everyone here: DO NOT for any reason get upset if you get denied. Each and everyone of us is special. You can go to a local community college and still be successful in life. There are many many stories about this. You don’t have to go here and if you do get accepted, know that I am happy for you! All that I ask is you take 20% of your life and use that towards the betterment of the people around you, those who are not as privileged as us, and those who seriously need our help.

To correct my post above, last year admissions decisions came out Jan. 28; some scholarship notifications Jan. 29; Excel on Feb. 1.
@Joe2015 my son’s school told them Wednesday it would be today. A large group of them are out together for the big reveal. Some restaurant is benefitting from the expectation of news at 4.
