UNC Class of 2021 EA

@Surya524 They should tell us this week coming up because I know they said that we will be informed about financial aid stuff shortly after admissions.

In past years scholarship info started coming out the day after decisions. Nothing today so I’m guessing either tomorrow or Monday

Check your spam folder. One of my son’s acceptances ended up there.

@Ceciliaagnes @paveyourpath Thank you so much! That actually really helped. At this point, whatever happens happens for the best

@mylast Decisions were not emailed. They are posted on the portal. Seems UNC just missed a few.

My daughter got accepted. OOS ACT 32 Top 7 in class. IB curriculum GPA 4 OK EC. Applied for Business Administration

@Stacy213 did she recieve confirmation on the Connect Carolina page that her application would be reviewed as part of the EA program? If not check her submission on the Common App to see if she selected Early Action.

Anyone got assured admission to kenan-flagler business school? Not sure how the selection process works. Details on the web site are a bit confusing. As far as I know, one has to apply for Early Action and write an additional essay. Also it appears one has to be selected under excel@carolina to be able to qualify for assured admission. This part about excel@carolina is what I am not certain about. My daughter got accepted into UNC and she indicated business as her intended major. But in the admission notice, there is no mention about direct admit to business school. So if anyone knows how the process works, can you pl share. Its highly appreciated. thanks. BTW she got deferred from UMich and Georgetown (Her other choice Univs)

@spoliset UNC sent out an excel email earlier this month asking students to rank their choices and write an essay for each opportunity (including assured admission into business school). They are most likely sending out scholarship and excel offers this week (possibly Monday if they are continuing the tradition of past years). So if your daughter got assured admission they will send you a separate email this week informing her of it.

My daughter was accepted OOS. The problem is she is a National Merit Semi Finalist and should definately be a finalist. We live in Florida so she will receive the Benquisto scholarship that will pay 100% of everything at FSU or UF. Even though UNC is her first choice. Any chance UNC could offer her a scholarship OOS if she lets them know the other schools are offering her a full ride?

Hopefully, Excel and some of the scholarships (there are very, very few, so it’s a longshot for anyone) will be announced by e-mail Monday or Tuesday. I wouldn’t worry about guaranteed admission to certain schools until the Excel announcement formally comes out.

@afitzsi I doubt it as they have very little merit for OOS other than the Robertson and Morehead. For the merit that doesn’t require a separate nomination/application you should find out in the next few days I believe.

@afitzsi UNC won’t offer any scholarship money based on being a national merit finalist. Unless she is already being considered by UNC for one of the full ride scholarships, of which there are few, not likely you will have any success trying to negotiate a full ride based on what other schools are offering.

@Garybarry if you applied to Notre Dame already isn’t it binding?

@afitzsi I was hoping the admissions committee would nominate me for the Moorehead-Cain scholarship as an OOS student but that ship sailed in December. I’m not sure there is any other full ride merit awards. Need based only.

Does anyone know when those who have proceeded to the next step in the Robertson scholarship will be notified?

By mid Feb @Indigoraccoon4

Somebody should create a groupme for unc 2021 ea acceptees!

Accepted OOS 33 ACT, 3.9 UW and 4.5 W GPA

@owen02 Notre Dame does NOT have binding early admissions. They have Restricted EA which means you are not allowed to apply to any binding ED programs or SCEA schools…but applying to UNC and ND early is allowed.
