I called about assured admission today to the b school. They told me that they are sending letters out within the next two weeks. No news is bad news…if you don’t get notified, you did not get your assured admission. Hopefully people will post when they get their letters so that everyone else knows they went out and that they didn’t get it.
Does assured admissions work the same way in that they limit the amount of OOS acceptances?? Or do they not consider residency for assured admission?
@paveyourpath thank you! I just received mine at 6:58 so I guess they are sending them in batches. So to anyone still wondering about it, there’s still a chance!
Personally a little surprised my DD didn’t get into honors college…2380 SAT/36 ACT, 4.0 GPA and valedictorian…do you think this may be because she selected honors college as her 2nd choice on the excel email? Thanks
@Asdc4378 I visited today there and the visitor coordinator told us that yes, those were great but it was based on the two supplement essays because they are holistic. Basically, that is what they focused a lot on and also, you DD might get a notification this week or next week, so even though there may not be a notification today, there might be one tomorrow. They are releasing things in waves though and there is some more information about this:
Incoming students are automatically considered for Honors Carolina. Students who are invited to join Honors Carolina typically receive an invitation within two weeks of being admitted to the University."
"How are students chosen?
When students are accepted for admission to Carolina, they are automatically considered for Honors Carolina. No separate application is required. A committee of faculty and academic staff make the final selections, relying on essays and teacher recommendations to provide insight into each student’s intellectual curiosity, passion for learning, and eagerness to embrace challenges. There is no set formula of class rank and test scores that guarantees an invitation to join Honors Carolina."
So lookout for things between today and next week.
And to everyone: I visited there and the staff said expect offers for financial aid, Excel, Honors Carolina to come soon, meaning either this week or next week. If you do not receive notification this week, do not lose hope. You might get one next week.
@srk2017 My tour guide was actually a pre-med student and the guide was taking some Honors classes but was not in Honors College. He said it would be beneficial to be in Honors Carolina, but it is up to you.
