Accepted, glad my source was wrong about decision timing, will be able to celebrate this weekend!
Denied! Time to move on
It hurt a little tk post that
My son was deferred from EA, now he has been waitlisted. Ugh.
Son was waitlisted after being deferred EA. He immediately accepted his spot on the waitlist. When he accepted his spot we can no longer view the decision letter. Will someone who was waitlisted and hasn’t accepted or rejected it yet post a picture here of so I can read exactly what it said? Thanks!
@millong I declined mine but it had a link to “FAQ for waitlist”. I bet a lot of your questions will be found if you search that on their website. Good luck!
Waitlisted from CompSci
OOS with 4.0 UW and 1490 SAT
oh well UC Santa Barbara will be fine and much cheaper :3
Thanks! We just wanted to see the official letter. I didn’t think it would disappear from the page after he accepted, but it did!
Glad I saw above question before declining (how is the waitlist not ranked - is it a lottery?). Good luck! Here is the waitlist text:
Thank you again for applying to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After carefully reviewing your application, I am sorry to say that we are unable to offer you admission at this time. However, we would like to place your name on a waiting list should any openings in the class become available.
Admission from the waiting list will depend on the number of students who confirm their enrollment by our deadline. As spaces become available, we will review all waiting-list candidates. All candidates will receive a final decision from us no later than June 30.
In the meantime, to accept a position on the waiting list, please take the following steps:
Please follow the link at the bottom of this page to indicate that you wish to remain on the waiting list.
Send us your final transcript if your school year ends before we notify you of our final decision. Beyond these final grades, we do not recommend that you send additional materials.
Read the Questions and Answers about the Waiting List.
Select another college or university, and send that school your enrollment deposit by its specified deadline.
All of these steps are important. Your educational future and your peace of mind require that you take step four and make plans to enroll at another college or university. The other steps will ensure that you will be considered for any spaces that may become available here at Carolina.
We regret that we will not be able to provide interviews or personal appointments for students on the waiting list. Because the waiting list is unranked, and because we will not know until later whether any spaces will become available, we will not be able to forecast any student’s chances of being admitted. Should spaces become available, our review will focus primarily on your original application and on any additional grades you may submit.
I know that you have already waited patiently for an answer from us, and I regret that we must now ask you to wait still longer. We will make every effort to resolve the waiting list as quickly and as carefully as we can. In the meantime, thank you again for your interest in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Sincerely,
Stephen Farmer
Vice Provost for Enrollment and Undergraduate Admissions
My daughter was deferred then waitlisted. She must now decide between NC State and UNCW. Congratulations to all who were accepted!

Accepted - Business Administration, OOS (Canada, International)
I applied ea and got deferred, today I got an email from the admissions committee that they couldn’t finish my application and I’ll find out Monday between 5-7pm, is that a good or bad sign?
Rejected! It’s ok though because I’ll probably be attending University of Washington!
1440/3.85uw
Congrats to all that got in
Shocked to have gotten rejected. Not even waitlist. I do not understand: 4.0 UW/OOS/34 ACT (35 SS)/National Merit Scholar/ Applied for biology…/Numerous Volunteering hours and internship related research
@aabbccmoneysing Very simple explanation: High stats and ec’s are not guaranteed admission at UNC and don’t make you entitled for one. Plenty have been rejected with even perfect scores. It’s about what UNC is looking for in its applicant class, and they didn’t feel as if you would be a good fit.
